The Prodigal Son
This prodigal wasted his life, disgraced himself, his family and his friends. There are many Prodigals living in nice homes, wearing good clothes, driving expensive cares and successful in the eyes of the world. Jesus told this parable to illustrate the broken fellowship and it’s results. Psalms 139:7-12, Luke 15:11-24 I: “Give Me.” This Tells Many Things. 1. He wanted his freedom. 2. He was tired of restraining influence. 3. He though to find a better way. Genetic 4. He felt no need for the Father or his house. Satan cannot force us to walk the way of sin. Our lives may seem to move in the same old Pattern, but God is molding. The potter never sleeps nor slumbers. II: The Wheels stopped. The regular routine was stopped. Something had gone wrong that stopped the potters wheel. God sometimes breaks in upon our circle to stop the wheels, sorrow, death, trouble, etc. The wheels stopped because the clay would not mold. There was parts of the clay that would not mold and must be removed. (Paul & the Castaway) III: “So he mad it again another vessel.” After the hard clay was removed it could never be...
The Greatest
The greatest city, the greatest wealth, the greatest opportunities, the greatest man, etc. John 3:16 Contained in these verses are three of the greatest things of all time and eternity. I: The Greatest Gift Ever Given. 1. Men have given gifts that stagger this poor boys imagination. “The Prince of India and the diamond he gave the Queen of England.” 2. Great love behind this gift: “Greater love hath no man.” God loved so much! 3. His love did not stop short of action. True love gives of self. He gave his only son. 4. This gift of his son was to men that rebelled against God. (What would you have done)? John 1:1- 5. Only the death of His son could save a lost world in rebellion. II: The Greatest Privilege. 1. If we ever get to Heaven it...
