Teaching them to Observe All Things
Matthew 28:, Timothy 2 3:15
The teaching ministery of the Church isn’t optional, but a command from the Lord. Jesus commanded Peter to feed the sheep and part of the great commission was to teach.
God didn’t leave the teaching of the law up to the Will of the children of Israel, but it was a commandment.
I: “Teaching them to Observe All That I Have Commanded You:” “How long will they hold out?”
1. This came after conversion and after Baptism.
2. The person who has just been converted and baptised into the fellowship of a church is just starting the Christian journey.
3. To win the soul is great, but to lose a life of service is a tragedy.
4. This teaching program was to continue as long as the church was here on earth.
a. The doctrine of the Trinity.
b. The Stewardship of life.
c. All the nations Missionary.
d. The Lord’s supper & Baptism.
e. What contitutes a New Testament Church.
f. The 2nd coming of Christ.
What am I really worth to the cause of Christ if I remain ignorant of His word and Commandments?
II: “Study to show thyself approved unto God…” Timothy 2 2:15.
1. “Continue thou in the things which thou hast learned.” Timothy 2 3:14.
2. “Knowing of whom thou hast learned them.”
3. “From a child thou hast known the Holy Scripture.” He was taught by a mother and grandmother. (It was a must)!
4. “Which are able to make the wise?” Real wisdom comes by making God’s word a part of our knowledge.
5. All scripture is inspired, is profitable, for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction.
These are necessary if the man of God is to be into all God’s works.
III: How can we be workman without shame?
1. How much time do we take to help our children with their scripture lessons on S.S, and T.U?
2. What weight does our examples carry in the home?
3. How much do we know about the doctrines of a New Testament Church?
a. Missions, home and foreign.
b. Schools for Christian training.
c. Hospitals for Christian care.
d. Childrens home & old people’s care.
If we refuse to make room for the Churches training of ourselves and our children, who will be able to lead us tomorrow?
