“Little but Wise”
“There be pure things which are little up on the earth.” Prov. 30:24-28
I: “They Are Exceeding Wise.”
A. “Go to the ant thou sluggard.” In the day and last minute preparation … Prov. 6:6-8
1. The ant works while it is yet day.
2. The ant is not hindered by the playful grasshopper.
3. He is able to look at the long cold winter without fear.
B. “The Conies are but as Feeble Folk” In this day and learning of many efforts.
1. He has many names: Little Chief Hare, Rock Rabbit, Whistling are.
2. He is about 7-10 inches long, brown yellow or grey.
3. His habitation is from 8600 feet up and his home is built at the base of a cliff among the rocks.
4. His food consists of leaves, grass, and Herbs.
5. He feeds in groups guarded by Sentinels.
6. When danger comes he flees to the rocks, NOT TO THE SENTENTIAL.
7. His feet are covered with fur to make him sure-footed as he leaps from rock to rock. “Feet shed with the Preparation of the Gospel of Peace.” Eph. 6:15
8. The foolish conies that become careless and wanders from the guarded group becomes an easy prey for wild beast.
9. “Conies’ are usually quite shy and would be seldom observed where it not for the odd Complaining notes which they utter continually when alarmed.”
C. “The Locust Have No King.”
1. They have corporation without dictation.
2. They move together with harmony yet have no visible King.
D. “The Spider Taketh Hold with Her Hands.”
1. Who has not marveled at her handwork in the early morning sunlight?
2. She takes hold with her hands and drapes even the barnyard with beauty.
3. How we could learn from her the secret of doing what we can under the most adverse circumstances.
The ants prepare in summer, the Connie’s make their home in the rocks, the locusts corporate without a dictator, and the spider changes her surroundings.
