True Security

Acts 6:1-8
It is next to impossible to help one who doesn’t believe there is anything wrong with him. If he feels there is no need for health, finances, moral or spiritual, than you wast time in trying to help him.

I: Israels False Securities:
1. We are the children of Abraham.
a. God has always favored us.
b. Why should God cease to favor us?
c. Other nations were the ones God punished.
2. It was a time of peace abroad, (Peace, peace when there was no peace).
a. Military victories filled the people with pride.
b. They had the best!
3. Prosperity – Luxury was the rule of the day.
4. Luxury and ease was their aim in life.
a. Put away the evil day.
b. Lie upon beds of ivory.
c. Eat lambs and calves.
d. Chant to the sound of Viol.
e. Drink wine.
f. Not troubled about coming disaster.

II: Warnings from the Man of God:
1. The leaders would be the 1st to taste defeat.
2. An end would come to luxury.
3. God abhored their pride founded on a false foundation.
4. Remember God won’t tolerate evil forever.

III: True Security:
1. The Spiritual Life of the individual.
2. The home that has Jesus as its head.
3. Remember that sin is a reproach to any people.
4. The greatest Securities are the Spiritual.

Until we are honest enough to acknowledge our need, we can never have true security.
