The Rose of Sharon
Genesis 1:11-13
God has a wealth of blessings stored in the grass, herb, and fruit tree.
I: Grass, (5,000 species):
1. What would our world be without grass?
2. Grass has blessed man wherever he lives.
3. Grass clothes the Earth with coats of green, blue, brown, etc.
4. It feeds the wild and tame beast alike.
5. The grass of by-gone years bless thru coal, etc.
6. “You never miss the water till the well goes dry.” (Texans).
II: Herb.
1. His word was made popular by the old-fashioned Medicine show.
2. It gives us food for our bodies.
3. From it comes medicine.
4. It holds healing in its leaves or roots.
III: Fruit Trees:
1. What would man do without them?
2. Apples, peaches, plums, pears, apricots, etc.
3. Wherever man goes and settles there is some type of fruit tree to bless.
IV: All these show the handwork of God.
1. In their design.
2. In the way they turn chemicals into different kinds of blessings.
3. In their reproduction: Sunflower, coconut, cocklebur.
4. In their persistance of doing the Will of God.
V: Scripture is filled with their illustrations.
1. The fields are while unto harvest.
2. Faith as a grain of a mustard seed.
3. Soloman not clothed like the lily.
4. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.
5. The Lily of the Valley.
6. The Rose of Sharon.
7. The bread of Life.
8. The vine and the branches.
