Witnessing that Wins Souls

T-3600, Matthew 28:19-20

I: The Church’s Witness:
1. The lost are not coming to church.
2. Lost never came in great numbers.
3. The Church’s appeal too often is made to the natural man.
4. All other institutions are making their appeal to the natural man.
5. To appeal to the natural man alone is to bring shame to the cause of Christ.

II: A Demand for Spiritual Things Must be Created.
1. The natural man demands the things that are natural.
2. The natural man cannot understand spiritual things nor does he have a desire for such.
3. God must create the demand.

III: How A Spiritual Demand is Created:
1. This is a miracle against nature.
2. Christans are the channel through which this demand is created.
3. Only the Holy Spirit can convict and make man conscious of his need.
4. Prayer prepared the Christian as a channel through which God blesses men.

IV: Through Witnessing:
1. The Holy Spirit convicts through the Word which requires witnessing.
2. Witnessing is to be to all but all will not accept it.
3. Soul winning can be done only with those whom the Holy Spirit is able to convict of sin (no force by man).

V: Two Kinds of Conviction: Conscience & Holy Spirit.
1. Conscience consists of a broken law.
2. Holy Spirit consists of a rejected Christ.
3. Conscience speaks of morality, the Holy Spirit of spirituality.
4. Conscience seeks to produce good works in us, the Holy Spirit is faith.
5. Conscience urges repentance toward a past life, the Holy Spirit toward God.
6. Conscience toward a higher ideal of living, Holy Spirit conversion to Christ.
7. Without the Holy Spirit conviction, one may become a Church member & fail to become a Christian!

VI: Without the Holy Spirit, Conviction One May become A Church Member & Fail to become A Christian!
1. Witnessing to the good music, program, and building.
To the preacher the good people or fellowship.
2. Witnessing to a lost world about a Saviour that came to seek and to save that which was lost.
