Light

Light is essential to life both physical and spiritual.
Gen. 1:1-5,        Cor. 2 4:6,        Matt. 5:14-16

I: “The Spirit of God Moved upon the Face of the Waters.”
1. Here we have a dark picture of chaos where God alone can work and put things in place.
2. With the theory of Evolution starting here, eternity wouldn’t be long enough to bring order.
3. God alone can bring order out of such a world and he alone can bring order to a sin-sick person.

II: “And God said Let There Be Light.”
1. Here we have light without the sun.
a. The lights of the great North.
b. The Phosphorous Lights of the low lands.
c. The Lightening bug (Light without heat).
2. Light has physical traits.
a. It can be divided.
b. Every metal gives off its individual light.
c. It’s rate of speed can be measured, (186,000 miles a second.).
d. It can be bounced off a polished surface.
3. Light has a Spiritual Nature:
a. It can pass thru a solid object at high speed and leave no trace.
b. The Photograph astonishes us.
c. Light cannot be contaminated.

III: “And God Saw the Light that it was Good.”
Light is the most useful thing we have.
a. It turns the wheels of industry.
b. It makes life in the home more enjoyable.
c. It is used to give life and to take life.
d. Man has been able to harness this great power to a small degree only.

IV: “The Lord is my Light and my Salvation.” Psalm 27:1
1. God alone can bring order to a heart where Chaos reigns.
2. Man has tried many ways but God says there is but one way.
3. God can bring light, order, and peace.
4. Jesus came to bring light that we might not walk in darkness.

“I am the light of the world! Ye are the light of the world.” (Light Holders).
As Definitely as God divided the light from the dark, He has separated the believer from the non-believer. Eph. 5:6-14
