“Coffin In Egypt”
The Book that says: “The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul” closes with these words “A coffin in Egypt.” Gen. 50:22-26, Exodus 13:19, Joshua 24:32, Heb. 11:22
I: Faith in God Makes Life Worth Living.
1. Without faith it is impossible to please God.
2. Faith moves one to live adventurous for God.
3. Faith smiles in the face of adversity.
4. Faith moved Joseph from slavery through prison to the throne.
5. Faith allowed him to look into the future without fear.
II: Faith Worth Living By Will Do to Die By.
1. Faith looks at death and say, “Carry up my bones from hence.”
2. The children of Israel had no thought of leaving Canaan when Joseph gave this command.
3. But 144 years later they moved out of the house in the night. Ex. 13:19.
4. Joseph’s bones traveled for better than 40 years with the children of Israel.
5. Faith brought his bones to rest in the family graveyard. Joshua 24:32.
III: What Kind of Faith do You Have?
1. Does it transform your life to action for God or does it allow you to shun your duty to His cause?
2. Does it allow you to face temptations and tribulations without drawing back or is it easier for you to give excuses and do nothing?
3. Does your faith let you look into your own grave and say, “O death where is thy setting? O grave where is thy victory?”
4. If your faith is too weak to stand the tempest of life, it is too weak to brave the waters of death.
