When Jesus Came

The Eternal Son of God Arrived in a Manger!    Luke 2:1-18

I: God’s Announcement of His arrival.
1. Announced thru the Prophets. Isa. 9:6.
2. Announced to Zachariah.
3. Announced to Mary.
4. Announced to the Shepherds.
5. Announced to Wise Men of the East.
6. Announced to Simeon.
7. Announced to Anna.
8. God’s announcements were sent in simple language to dedicated people.

II: What we Read about Him.
1. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… All things were made by Him.”     John 1:1-3
2. “For thou lovest me before the Foundation of the World.” John 17:24.
3. “Hath in these last days spoken to us by His son, whom he hath appointed their of all things by whom also he made the World.” Heb. 1:2

III: How He could have been Announced.
1. The baby you see wrapped in swaddling cloth, made clouds and thick darkness a swaddling band for the sea!
2. He is the one that measured the Waters and metered out the Heavens, counted the Dust, and weighed the Mountains.
3. He laid the Earths foundations.
4. He will some day rule all the Universe. He will cause War to cease, the Desert to blossom like a rose, the Lion to lay down with the lamb. He will build a city where there will be no death, no sorrow, no crying, no pain, no night.
5. He will pay man’s ransom and make a way home.

IV: When Jesus Came.
1. Ordinary people busy with every day things, but wonder glory was there. Little glamor found in that 1st Christmas.
2. They let him be born in a manger.
3. Most of the world could care less.
4. How much room does he have in your life and mine?
5. A few seeking sages, some shepherds, and others simple people had insight to see it.

How much room do we make for Him in our lives, our homes, and business?
