Christ in the Eternal Past

John 1:1-14, 17:5,    Col. 1:17, 1:12-17,    and Peter 1 1:18-20

“But thou Bethlehem, Ephrathah, which art little among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.” Micah 5:2.

“O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self, with the glory which I had with thee before the World was.” John 17:5

“Before the Foundation of the World.”    Eph. 1:3-5

“The whole history of the future in all its details, the place of every person, the effect of every act, the course of all ages, the final and outcome of all, were known, considered, and arranged.” Patterson.

I: “In the Beginning was the Word.” (Eternal Past).
1. Gods expression of His will for a lost world.
2. Gods love manifested.
3. Gods word for all ages (Alpha and Omega).
4. To listen means life, to ignore means death.

II: The Word in Creation.
1. “By the Word of the Lord were the Heavens made and all the Host of them by the breath of his mouth.” Psalm 33:6.
2. In the preparation of and the shaping of the world for the coming of man.
3. “Let us make Man.” Jesus was there.
4. The Plan of Salvation made before the foundations of the World were laid. Matt. 25:34, Eph. 1:4, Peter 1 1:20.
5. What thought that my Salvation was planned before the Foundation of the World was laid.

III: “As many as Received Him.” Finding His Plan for Me.
1. Christ made plans for me in the Eternal past.
2. Christ said “It is finished.”
3. Out of the silence of the Eternal Past comes a plan for my life.
4. Down thru the ages it was brought to me.
5. To be or not to be is my choice.
