The Holy Spirit and Soul Winning

Without the Holy Spirit there is no revival, where the Holy Spirit has his way there is Revival. John 16:5-15

I: The Holy Spirit and the Sinner:
1. The Natural Man will not receive the things of the Spirit of God. Cor. 1 2:14
2. He will prepare the Sinners heart. Acts 10:3
3. He brings conviction. John 16:8
a. Of Sin — Makes man see sin in its true light. (I’m not lost, depot lost).
b. Of Righteousness — He sees his own righteousness as filthy rags.
c. Of Judgment — God’s just judgment of the Sinner.
4. Brings to pass the new birth. John 3:5-6
5. He seals the believer unto the day of redemption. Cor. 2 1:21, Eph. 1:13-14
6. Sin against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven.

II: The Holy Spirit and the Saved.
1. Necessary to the continued Christian growth and care.
2. A temple of the Holy Spirit. John 14:17
3. The gifts of the Holy Spirit. Cor. 1 12:14
4. Produces fruits of righteousness. Gal. 5:22-25
5. He is the Christians comforter and counselor.
6. Christian commanded to be filled with. Eph. 5:18
7. The Christian cannot commit the unpardonable sin, but He can.
a. Grieve the Holy Spirit.
b. Quench the Holy Spirit.

III: The Holy Spirit and the Soul Winner.
1. He must bring the conviction.
2. He must direct the approach.
3. He must control the advance.
4. He must be allowed to work with Saint and Sinner.
5. He will make Jesus known.
