The Truth Shall Make You Free

At the feast of Tabernacles, Jesus declared himself to be the Bread of Life, the Light of the Son of God, and the only one that could set men free from sin. John 8:31-45

I: “I am the Light of the World.” vs. 12
1. After setting free the woman taken in adultery.
2. While the great candle holders were set to light the Temple and Grounds.
3. In memory of the Pillar of Fire in the Wilderness.
4. The Pillar of fire, protected, gave light and shade.
5. The cloud guided and led in every move.
6. No map for their Journey, but a guide all the way.
7. Jesus claimed to be the true light for Man’s journey across the Sea of Life.

II: “The Truth Shall Make You Free.”
1. “We be Abraham’s seed.” Depending on heritage and their form of Religion.
2. They were blind to their personal responsibility to God!
3. “Never in bondage.” Egypt, Babylon, Rome
4. Their way of life blinded them to their bondage.

III: Light and Freedom
1. “It is better to light a candle than to sit and curse the darkness.”
2. Jesus still gives light for those who want it.
3. “Men love darkness more than light because their deeds are evil.”
4. We are in bondage but most men refuse to acknowledge the truth, (alcoholic).
5. Freedom must come individually.
6. We must choose the family of God or the Devil.
7. Family traits are evident in our daily walk.

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me.” John 14:6
