God Has A Plan for Your Life
John 8:66-68 Joshua 24:1-15
Like the Master Potter that Jeremiah watched, God has a plan for our lives. God has an individual plan for every individual life.
I. God’s plan demonstrated in Old Testament.
1. Abraham in his darkest hours believed God
2. Jacob even in his self centered beginning.
3. Joseph while a slave sold by his own brothers.
4. Moses in the house of Pharaoh.
5. Job’s darkest hours never kept him from becoming what God wanted him to be.
II. The Freedom of will is seen in the Power of Choice.
1. The freedom of choice is beautiful and dangerous.
2. But man is compelled to make a choice.
3. Some plan of life is ruling us.
4. It may be a plan to live aimlessly.
5. Joshua called for decisions based on facts.
6. Jesus left no room for aimless or worldly plans in a full fledged follower.
7. Some plans of life should be soberly thought out.
III: One may reject God’s plan for his life.
1. Psalm 8: Says that created things are doing Gods will. The moon, stars, and sun obey God’s plan.
2. Man alone can reject God’s plan for his life.
3. But, there is a price on rejection of God’s will. Arab and Jezebel, Saul the first King, Lot in Sodom, Jonah sailed the wrong direction.
IV: There is a Reward in following God’s plan.
1. God crops are not all gathered in the fall.
2. Heb. 11: Tells of many that are waiting.
3. Paul the Apostle said: “I have fought the fight for the good, I have run my race, I have kept the faith. Now the crown of doing right awaits me.”
V: How can one know God’s plan? Start where you are doing what you know!
1. Do you know God’s plan for you?
2. Would you let him show you?
3. Would you begin where you are and move to where you know he would have you be?
4. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step at a time.”
5. Life without a plan is like a ship without a rudder!
