What is God Like & How May I Know Him?

I: Gen. 1:1 Takes God for Granted.
1. The Bible doesn’t argue the existence of God, it tells of God.
2. Man that would be able of understanding all about God would be a God himself.
3. We walk by Faith and not by Sight.
4. God has revealed himself:
a. As 1 God.
b. As a voice.
c. Through Human Experiences.
d. Through his world.
e. Through the Bible.
f. Through his Son.

II: Gods Likeness:
1. God is love.
2. God is light.
3. God has compassion.
4. God becomes angry.
5. In Him is no darkness.
6. God is Holy.

III: God is Supreme:
1. Natural History proves that man is too weak to invent a God who is Supreme.
2. “The Lord He is God and there is none else beside him.” Deut. 4:35
3. Supreme over His Universe.
4. Supreme over time, made, controls ends, inside, outside.
a. God is everlasting. Gen. 21:23
b. God never changes. Psalm 102:27
c. “The eyes of the Lord are every place.” Prov. 15:3

“Am I a God at hand … and not a God afar off? … Do not I fill heaven and Earth.” Jer. 23:23-24
Jesus told the Samaritan woman that God could not be isolated in a building nor on an altar. John 4:24
Every man a Priest and every heart an Altar.
Omniscient — He knows everything.    Psalm 47:5, Isaiah 46:9-10, Heb. 4:13, and John 1 3:20
Yah, Mhweh, Yahveh … The one who is and shall be. He is the great “I AM.” He is a holy God — to worship anything less dwarfs man’s soul. Paul in Athens.

Epicureans – Epicures (342-271 B.C). Their object was to find, in Philosophy, a practical guide to happiness. True pleasure and not absolute truth was the end at which he gained experience and not reason the test on which he relied.
Stoic – Reno (280 B.C).  Decided none from the beautiful search on which he taught Morality based on pride. Fatherhood of Gird the Common bonds of Mankind, the Sovereignty of the soul.
