Fields White for Harvest

John 4:27-42

Who is a Missionary? “One who is sent to preach the Gospel.”
Where would one need to go to become a Missionary? Some of our Missionaries stay home.

I: “There are Yet Four Months.”
1. Eyes shut to the Spiritual Harvest.
2. When the fields are white for harvest, they wont wait, (Japan, China, and others of our life time: South America).
3. Many dangers beset a field ready for harvest. (Ada)
4. “The night cometh when no man can work.”

II: Harvest Field We Ought to See.
1. 70 million without Christ in America.
2. Thousands of Foreign Students among us that need to know Christ.
3. Hundreds of new churches and missions need Pastors and Leaders.
4. 45 Missionaries could be added to Missions.
5. 18 million foreign-speaking people live in the USA. The ends of the Earth have come to us.
85 new missionaries are needed to reach these people alone.
6. More than half the American Indians are still not evangelized.
7. There are more Jewish people in Chicago than in Jerusalem! More in N.Y than Israel.
8. Thousands of deaf await someone to minister to them. How blind can Christians be?

III: The Fields Reach to Our Own Doors.
1. Part of the harvest is in our own homes.
2. Part of the harvest is our next door neighbor.
3. Part of the harvest is in your S.S. Class.
4. Part of the harvest are those with whom you work.

IV: What are We Doing? What can We Do?
1. 22 Baptist Church Members to win 1 soul to Christ. 95% never try! (Saint vitas).
2. We are too concerned about our self appointed jobs.
3. Our eyes are blinded to the main tasks of being a Christian.
4. What can we do?
a. “The Devil doesn’t mind us going to Church as long as it doesn’t result in saving souls.”
b. Test our activities in the light of the great commission.
c. Quit talking Christianity by the yard and start walking it by the foot.
d. Sometimes the greatest sin is that of silence!

“Going up?” Little women that run the elevator.
To often we are so busy being Respectable, we fail to be Responsible.
