“What doth Hinder Me”
Acts 8:26-
I: “The Angel of the Lord.”
1. Right in the midst of a revival.
2. When his success might have ruined him.
3. He was asked to leave for a desert place.
4. The eagerness of Philip in preaching to the Eunuch was in contrast to the reluctance of Peter to preach to Cornelius.
5. Philip was not discouraged when Preaching or studying with one!
II: “A Man of Ethiopia.”
1. May have been a Jew, a Greek, or Black.
2. Was a man of great power.
3. Was searching for the truth in the word of God.
4. Had failed to find salvation in Jerusalem.
a. Where was the teachers of the word of God?
b. Where were the Christians?
5. He was willing to be taught!
III: “Then the Spirit Said unto Phillip.”
1. The ear must be tuned to the Spirit of God if we are ever to win souls.
2. Phillip was not discouraged by the Man’s position in life.
3. “Understandest thou what thou readest?”
4. “How can I except some man should guide me?”
5. “The Place of the Scripture,” a picture of the suffering Christ.
6. Phillip began where he was and preached to him, Jesus. Not Church, not Fellowship, not Social.
7. “Here is water. What doth hinder me to be Baptized?”
a. Some things had hindered him at Jerusalem.
b. Some things must come before Baptism.
c. Repentance and faith.
d. Phillip under authority from his home Church baptized the Eunuch.
8. He went on his way rejoicing and Phillip.
Simple soul winning. Have you ever been lead to talk to one about their Spiritual Life?
