Messengers of the Good News
Acts 8:4-8
I: “They that Were Scattered.”
1. These were blood bought slaves.
2. They had of their own free wills chosen to be servants of Christ.
3. Everything was to come under His control.
4. They had witnessed miracles and some had seen Jesus after the Resurrection.
5. They had witnessed a tremendous growth in the local Church.
6. They were commissioned to tell the whole world about Jesus.
II: “Scattered.”
1. “At that time there was great persecution against the church.”
2. Their peaceful waters were stirred.
3. What they would not do willingly, God allowed Satan to make them willing. God’s people are always in danger of complacency.
4. People were dying in Sin while their people kept the good news from them.
III: “Scattered Abroad went everywhere Preaching the Word.”
1. Their hearts were warm with the message of love. “For God so loved.”
2. They were driven out to where they were forced to see the sick world.
3. The World’s sickness would never yield to the World’s Medicine.
4. Spiritual Cancer was cured by the cross only.
5. These people were persecuted but not silenced.
6. They became Pilgrims and strangers with a message for all that wanted to be made whole.
7. Every Christian had become a Preacher!
“The love of Christ constraineth me!”
