Acts 23:1-11, Matthew 14:22-33

I: We Must Realize the danger We Face.
1. The Disciples were in danger of accepting the Spirit of the Crowd, (They would make Jesus King).
2. They were in danger of the Sea where they were familiar.
3. They were in danger because their faith was weak.
4. Jesus allowed them to reach their own limitations.
II: “Be of Good Cheer.”
1. This was no time to give up.
2. They were encouraged.
3. Peter attempted the impossible and found the limit of his faith.
We are too often contained to stay in the boat.
III: “It is I.”
1. They needed him.
2. This lesson would last them a life time.
3. “Jesus this is Jim. Jim this is Jesus.”

d. Choir, did you know Jesus is listening?
e. Family, he is your unseen guest!
f. Bread winner Jesus is there where you make your budget.
4. “I am satisfied with Jesus, but the question comes to me as I think of Calvary is my Master satisfied with me?”
We can’t present Christ through lukewarm Christianity. If we don’t listen to God, the Holy Spirit will leave us and we will never know when he left…
