They Continued

Acts 2:41-47
People are drawn towarde those of good will and fellowship. Everyone liked to feel that they belong.

I: The Results of Peters Message on the Church.
1. 3,000 added to the Membership.
2. They gladly received his word.
3. They were glad to be Baptized.
4. They became members gladly.
5. They took God for their God, and His people for their people. (There is no healthy Christian Life in isolation). Deliberate neglect of Christian Fellowship will bring about Spiritual Malnutrition.
6. “They continued steadfastly … in Doctrine.” “They applied themselves.”
Jesus spoke of some that came with joy, but quit under pressure of the World. Matt. 13:20
7. They were constant in attendance to preaching and prayer.
8. Their prayer life was constant in public and private.
9. They abounded in Thanksgiving.
10. They were cheerful and generous.
11. They proved that it was a joy to give themselves to the cause of Christ.

II: The Effect of the Church on the City and Nation.
1. Fear came upon every soul. No disregarding this church.
2. Many wonders and signs followed them.
3. New converts remained steadfast because old members helped them serve with joy.
4. The fellowship astonished the World.
5. Their fellowship was taken to the Homes, Christians eating together.
6. Here are 4 aspects of the Church to which they gave Persistent attention:
Preaching, Prayer, Witnessing, Doctrine, and Fellowship.
