The Divine Must

Acts 19:21, 20:1-38
“After the uproar was ceased, (A special offering was being raised).” Paul’s farewell to the Museum Fields of Asia.

I: Macedonia and Much Exhortation:
1. A desire to visit and strengthen.
2. Much exhortation. “A calling near.” “To call near with much discourse.”
a. “I haven’t shunned to declare unto you at the council of God.” vs. 27
b. “By the space of 3 yrs. I ceased not to warn everyone night and day with tears.”
c. “Exhort one another.”
3. The right attitudes: “with tears.”

II: Eutychus and His Kin. vs. 6-12
1. Exhortation the Saints at Troas.
2. Sunday night a special meeting.
3. Many lights, Eutychus sat in the 3rd story window.
4. “Paul was long preaching,” till midnight.
5. Eutycus fell asleep and fell out.
6. God worked a special miracle.
7. The meeting lasted until day and they observed the Lords Supper.

III: The Farewell to Ephesus.
1. He sent to Ephesus for the Elders.
2. You know how I spent my time with you.
3. “I kept back nothing.”
4. “I go bound in the Spirit.” The Divine must.
a. “Not knowing the things that shall befall there.” vs. 22
b. “But none of these things move me.”
c. “Neither count in my life dear unto myself.”
d. “With joy.” The hardest of trials failed to make the service of Jesus a drudgery for Paul.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
