Seeking A More Convenient Time

Acts 24:24-27

We live in a day of people seeking convenience.
God’s work goes undone because His people seek a convenient time to do it. Souls are in Hell today because they sought a convenient time to be saved.
Our jails are being filled today with young men that Mother and Dad failed to find a convenient time to take them to the house of God or to instruct them right.
We are cursed with a rash of convenience; we have become a self-centered in thought and action, finding no time for God.

I: Felix Listened to Paul Concerning the Faith in Christ.
1. He sent for Paul with a hope of personal gain.
2. He was dressed in fine robes and his beautiful Jewish wife set by his side.
3. Paul came in ragged prison clothes with chains upon him, but witht he fire of God in his heart.
4. Paul made an appeal to Felix to do right, to be temperate, and warned him of Judgment to come.

II: “Felix Trembled:”
1. He was convinced of the truth of Paul’s words.
2. He was convicted of the Holy Spirit.
3. Felix was almost persuaded to make a decision.
4. But he sent the 1 away that could help him.
5. He would listen at a more convenient time.

III: Felix had 2 Yrs. to Find A Convenient Time.
1. He sent for Paul often.
2. He got to the place where he no longer trembles.
3. His 1 thought was to get something material from God’s servant.
4. At the end of 2 yrs. he was willing to show the Jews a pleasure by leaving Paul in prison.

IV: Are You Among the Convenient Crowd?
1. Does your family worship wait on a convenient time?
2. Does your personal prayer life wait on a convenient time?
3. Are you weak and sickly in your Christian life because …?
4. Does your Church suffer because you can’t find a convenient time?
5. Is it more convenient to criticize and be a dead beat than to find time to serve?
6. Have you become hardened to the place you can see the work of God bound that you and others might have pleasure?
