“In Jesus Name.”

Acts 3:1-16, 19:14-17, and    Phil. 2:9-11

I: There is Power in A Name.
1. “Mention my name.” “Tell him I sent you.”
2. The mention of a name Amy open the closed door. (Mrs. Williams of Delano Hospital).
3. The most influential name has its limitations!
4. No name has the power as the name Jesus.

II: The Name of Jesus Means Blessings of Cur-sing’s.
1. The Jews put him in a grave, but God brought him back from the dead.
2. Nations that refuse the influence of his name crumble under the weight of their own sin.
3. When Paul used the name it was a blessing.
4. When the sons of Seeva used it, they almost lost their lives.
5. To some it is just a curse word, but brings death.
6. To some it is the sweetest name on Earth or in Heaven.

III: In that Name is Life or Death.
1. The name above every name.
2. No other name given whereby man can be saved.
3. Every knee should bow, every tongue should confess.
4. Devil’s tremble, sick were made whole, Nations rise or fall, Christians died rather than blaspheme that name.
5. How much does it mean to you and to me?
6. What changes has it brought to our way of life?
7. How much as we are willing to sacrifice to hold that name in it’s proper place?

In Jesus Name
Acts 3:1-10

I: “The Hour of Prayer.”
1. Peter and John were regular attendants at the Prayer Meeting.
2. Prayer had become part of their very life.
3. They felt the need of joining others in prayer.
4. What a blessing they would have missed if other things had kept them from prayer meeting this time.
5. The important man would have remained lame.
6. 5,000 men would have remained in their Sins!
7. Eternity alone will tell the damage done by Church People that fail to attend Prayer Meeting.

II: A Lame Man Begged before the Beautiful Gate.
1. He had never walked in all his 40 yrs.
2. He was reconciled to a life of begging.
3. He had friends that carried him to the Beautiful Gate.
4. But he never dreamed of walking thru the Beautiful Gate.
5. He had seen Jesus pass thru the Gate.
6. He knew of the Crucifixion of Jesus.
7. He had heard the stories of the Resurrection.
8. He pondered these things in his heart.

III: “Silver and Gold have I None.”
1. They had nothing to drop in His cup.
2. There are 4 kinds of people in the world.
a. The people who have neither Silver nor Gold, nor anything else to give — These are the drift-wood on the Ocean.
b. The people who have Silver and Gold, and no moral or Religious Property — These are the Paupers of the Universe.
c. The people who have neither Silver nor Gold, but like Peter, they had Vision, Inspiration, Faith, Hope, and Love — These are the Rich-unto God.
d. The people who have Silver and Gold, and with all the things which are honorable just pure, lovely, and of good report.
3. Money could never do what the name of Jesus could.
4. There are many things money won’t buy. Ask the dying man, the sorrowing widow, the disgraced girl, the man in prison, or the rich man in Hell.
5. There is no limit to the power of Jesus name. Ask Mary Magdalene, and thousands like her, ask Paul and Silas, ask the millions that have followed Him thru the fires of Persecution, and last of all, ask your own heart.
6. This man was made whole, filled with Joy, and given a purpose in life.

“In the Name of the Lord.” Sam. 17:35
