Power for the Task
Acts 1:8, John 14:15-23, and 16:6-14
I: God’s Plan to Evangelize:
1. Ye shall receive power. This isn’t a human task to be done by Man’s Power.
2. “Ye shall be witnesses.” No option. If we have the power to be witnesses.
3. The task to begin at home. If 1 can’t be a good witness at home, he will not be 1 away from home.
4. To the uttermost part of the Earth: If our compassion and witnessing stops at home, we don’t have God’s plan in our hearts.
5. The equipment for the task would be the Holy Spirit.
II: The Day of Pentecost.
1. A red letter day in the Church.
2. God demonstrated His power to use the Christians and convict the Sinners.
3. Pentecost is the beginning of the work of the Holy Spirit in the Church.
4. The Holy Spirit will lead the Church until the 2nd coming of our Lord.
5. “The coming of the Holy Spirit was a sign that the atonement was complete.” Heb. 9:24
a. “Jesus had entered into the Holy Place and was accepted.” Lev. 16:8-14
b. “The sacrifice was made on the Cross the Atonement was completed before the Father in Heaven. The High Priest War Bells. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit.” Exodus 28:31-35
6. The Christian can go in the Power of the Holy Spirit knowing that redemption has been completed.
III: The Message We Bear:
1. We don’t have to make up the Message, we “tell it like it is.”
2. The Heavenly Pilot will guide us over every mile of the way.
3. He will prepare the World to receive the Message.
4. The Christians life is to be 1 of surrender to His Leadership.
5. He unties the Church effort and gives a Spirit of oneness.
6. He can make the indifferent come alive.
7. He can bring the dead to life and light.
Pentecost belongs to the Past, Present, and Future.
