Why Seek Ye the Living Among the Dead?

Cor. 1 15:12-20, Luke 24:1-11

I: “If there be no resurrection of the dead.” Cor. 1 15:13
1. If Christ didn’t conquer death!
2. Every preacher has preached in vain.
3. Every Christian has lived under false hopes.
4. Every funeral has been a mockery.
5. Every church building has stood in vain.
6. Every prayer has gone unheard.
7. Every Christian song written has been to deceive.

II: The Tomb of Jesus is famous because it was empty.
1. England has its famous burial places.
2. The Tombs of ancient potentates are famous because of what they contain.
3. America has her famous graves because of great men and women that are burried there.
4. The tomb of Jesus became the greatest tome of all ages because it was empty.

III: “Why Seek ye the living among the dead?”
1. They didn’t expect him to be alive.
2. What a shame for Christians to act as though Christ was still dead.
3. He wont be fround among the dead things of this world.
4. You may seek him among the tombs but you will find him among the living.

IV: “He is not here, but is risen!”
1. He has laid aside the grave clothes.
2. He has become victorious over death.
3. He has broken the power of death and pulled its stinger.

“O death where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory thru our Lord, Jesus Christ.
