Love is the Fulfilling of the Law.
Exodus 20:1-, Luke 10:25-29, and Romans 13:8-1
Jesus told the Lawyer that love would fulfill the Law, then he told the story of the good Samaratin to illustrate it.
I: How does love fulfill the Law?
1. “Thou shalt have no other Gods before me.” Anything that takes the place of God in our lives becomes a God to us.
2. “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” A man that says he can love God and curse at the same time is lying.
3. “Remember the Sabboth day, to keep it holy. Love for Jesus caused the early Church to keep Sunday as a day of rest and worship.”
4. Honour thy father and thy mother.” Love compells us to do right by our parent.
5. “Thou shalt not kill.” Love plans no murder.
6. “Thou shalt not commit adultery.” Adultery is never committed in love, but lust.
7. “Thou shalt not steal.” Love needs no look to keep it out of others property.
8. “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” A lie is never told in love.
9. “Thou shalt not covet.” Love doesn’t crest a desire for that which we have no right to.
