Almost 4,000 years ago.<br \/>\n2. The younger man given the choice.<br \/>\n3. Lot failed to weigh many things that his choice would include:<br \/>\na. His occupation would change.<br \/>\nb. His choice would affect his children.<br \/>\nc. His wife would become involved.<br \/>\nd. He would lose control of the spiritual leadership.<br \/>\ne. He would become a joke to his family.<br \/>\n4. All Lot could see was well watered plains, and a city market.<br \/>\n5. He lost his children to the ways of Sodom.<br \/>\n6. He became accustomed to being drunk.<br \/>\n7. He died a lonely deserted man; Was it worth the choice he made?<\/p>\n<p><strong>II: Abraham Also Made A Choice.<\/strong><br \/>\n1. He was willing to settle for less and live at peace with his people.<br \/>\n2. He was willing to live in the Hill country, and build his altar there.<br \/>\n3. His whole family, a nation, and the world of Christianity was affected.<br \/>\n4. The most honored man of Christianity, Jews, &amp; Arabs. Choices we can make.<\/p>\n<p><strong>III: Making Our Choices In This Changing World.<\/strong><br \/>\n1. The matter of life&#8217;s occupation is a constant choosing.<br \/>\n2. The College Graduate is six months behind current knowledge when he graduates!<br \/>\n3. Three times during the average working life, a new choice must be made.<br \/>\n4. The choice we make for life&#8217;s Vocation will effect us in every phase of life.<br \/>\na. It will set our Financial Status.<br \/>\nb. It will effect our ego, self-esteem, personal satisfaction.<br \/>\nc. His happiness will be effected.<br \/>\nd. His emotional and physiological well-being is effected.<br \/>\ne. The meaning he finds in life is effected (German Prisoners of War).<br \/>\nf. His contribution to society is effected.<br \/>\ng. His influence on family and friends is effected by his vocation.<br \/>\nh. His choices in Vocation will effect his religious life. Doctor, Teacher, Lawyer, Motel Operator, Trainman, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IV: Every Man Must Choose.<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Lot chose by worldly values and lost the most precious things God had given.<br \/>\n2. Abraham chose the simple life and gained wealth untold.<br \/>\n3. Moses made a vital choice that placed his name in the honor rolls of God.<br \/>\n4. Joshua challenged his people to choose.<br \/>\n5. Paul was sad when Demas made his choice of the world.<br \/>\n6. Life is made up of choices and one needs to weigh many things before he chooses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>V: Lot Failed To:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Evaluate and examine the choices open to him.<br \/>\n2. He failed to consider the change that would take place in Sodom.<br \/>\n3. Lot chose the plains but failed to get the information on the price to be paid.<br \/>\n4. Lot made his choices on the appeal of the material alone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The choices we make in our work will have far greater effect than most of us realize.
