They were not to inherit houses, land, or any material wealth.<br \/>\n2. This was his going away present.<br \/>\n3. Without peace what do you have in an individual, family, city, or nation?<br \/>\n4. Introduce remorse or an evil conscience and you destroy peace.<br \/>\n5. Introduce fear and anxiety and peace is impossible.<br \/>\n6. Most of our world is at war or in a unsteady truce.<br \/>\n7. Peace that depends upon things is unsure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>II: &#8220;My Peace.&#8221; What Kind of Peace?<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Jesus knew poverty.<br \/>\n2. His motives were questioned constantly.<br \/>\n3. His own people refused to believe him, even family.<br \/>\n4. He faced assassination constantly.<br \/>\n5. Awake him from a sound sleep and tell him the storm is sinking the boat!<br \/>\n6. He was never troubled about his own reputation or his life.<br \/>\n7. He was cursed but he never cursed in return!<br \/>\n8. The world had come to him in various shapes and he had conquered it!<br \/>\n9. His was not a peace that came by compromise, or circumstance.<br \/>\n10. He gave them the most precious part of his character!<\/p>\n<p><strong>III: &#8220;Not As the World Giveth&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n1. A troubled mind, a guilty conscience, a fearful heart, does not make for peace.<br \/>\n2. The world gives shadows and darkness.<br \/>\n3. Its promissory notes are usually dishonored.<br \/>\n4. The world gives its best first, the thinking man smokes, the man of distinction drinks, the man about town never gets caught, they never tell of the hang over.<br \/>\n5. It gives laughter that ends in sorrow, joy that burns to morning.<br \/>\n6. It gives pleasure that turns to pain. &#8220;The drunkard says I never feel the pain.&#8221;<br \/>\n7. It gives bright hopes that ends in despair.<br \/>\n8. It promises a heaven that turns to hell.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IV: &#8220;Let Not Your Heart be Troubled&#8230;&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n1. He is the only one that could give his followers peace and freedom from fear.<br \/>\n2. They were marked for their calmness. &#8220;They took note that they had been with Jesus.&#8221;<br \/>\n3. He has kept the promise of peace. (Latimar in his death).<br \/>\n4. Paul in all his trials. &#8220;Our light afflictions, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.&#8221; Cor. 2 4:17.,  Cor. 2 11:24-30<br \/>\n5. Jesus still promises this kind of peace to his own. Outside of God there is no lasting peace.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peace is not a future thing for a quota retirement to the cottage by the side of the road!
