The church is primarily a fellowship of baptized believers and the center of that fellowship, is Christ.<br \/>\nWhen true worship goes, a Church becomes self-centered and unconcerened about the welfare of God&#8217;s house and God&#8217;s message.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I: Man Must Worship.<br \/>\n<\/strong>1. There is a spiritual vacuum when we do not worship.<br \/>\n2. Adam and Eve were taught.<br \/>\n3. Cain refused God&#8217;s way.<br \/>\n4. Noah built an altar.<br \/>\n5. Abraham built an altar.<br \/>\n6. Moses was given instructions as to how to worship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>II: The Nature of Worship:<br \/>\n<\/strong>1. Private and public. People that do not worship in private are not apt to worship in public.<br \/>\n2. Worship cannot replace work. One cannot worship right until he is willing to work and one&#8217;s work is not right until he is willing to worship.<br \/>\n3. The form of Worship was simple.<\/p>\n<p><strong>III: The Place &amp; Time of Worship:<br \/>\n<\/strong>1. The upper room of Jerusalem.<br \/>\n2. The Temple used for a time.<br \/>\n3. Public buildings and Private homes, <strong>Col. 4:1, Philemon 1:2.<br \/>\n<\/strong>4. Secret places (<strong>catacombs<\/strong>).<br \/>\n5. The first half of third century, the houses of worship were built.<br \/>\n6. Houses of worship should not be built by stinginess nor by pride.<br \/>\n7. The time of worship:<br \/>\n<strong>a. <\/strong>Jerusalem &#8220;continued daily.&#8221;<br \/>\n<strong>b. <\/strong>Many Jews worshiped on Saturday.<br \/>\n<strong>c. <\/strong>By the end of the Apostocic period, the Lord&#8217;s day was to become the proper day. <strong>Acts 20:7, Cor. 1 16:2, and Reverend 1:10.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>d. Justin Martin &#8212;<\/strong> &#8220;On Sunday, all the Christians living either in city or country, met together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>IV: The Four Main Parts of Worship:<br \/>\n<\/strong>1. <strong>Prayer &#8212; <\/strong>Free and spontaneous expressions and desires of the heart. &#8220;When ye stand and praying.&#8221; <strong>Mark 11:25.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>a. <\/strong>Bowed knees &#8212; <strong>Eph. 3:14.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>b. <\/strong>Lifting up hands in prayer. <strong>Timothy 1 2:8.<br \/>\nc. <\/strong>Petition, Invocation, Adoration, Confession, and Intercession.<br \/>\n2. <strong>Praise &#8212; <\/strong>Singing.<br \/>\nMusic from the heart. <strong>Cor. 1 14:15, Eph. 5:19.<br \/>\n<\/strong>3. Preaching of Scripture. <strong>Timothy 1 4:13. <\/strong>&#8220;Giving attention to reading.&#8221;<br \/>\n4. <strong>Teaching &amp; Exhortation<\/strong> <strong>&#8212; <\/strong>An explanation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>V: The Purpose of Worship:<br \/>\n<\/strong>1. For development of the worshiper.<br \/>\n2. Winning of others to Christ.<br \/>\n3. To the glory of God.<br \/>\n4.
