A Bearer of good news.<br \/>\n2. A Bearer of Financial Help from the Gentile Churches.<br \/>\n3. &#8220;The brothers gave us a warm welcome.&#8221;<br \/>\n4. The Jude an Christians Hostility.<br \/>\n5. They gave Paul his greatest hostility.<br \/>\n6. Prejudice was the weakness of the Jerusalem Church.<\/p>\n<p><strong> II: &#8220;Israelite s to the Rescue!&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n1. They jumped to a conclusion. (Their favorite exercise).<br \/>\n2. A wild tumult followed an attempt to kill Paul.<br \/>\n3. The Roman Commander, Claudius came to the rescue.<br \/>\n4. Paul felt again the breath of Death and Jail.<\/p>\n<p><strong> III: Paul and His Circumstances, (Night in Jail).<\/strong><br \/>\n1. The failures of the day.<br \/>\n2. His claim of sincerity insulted.<br \/>\n3. His testimony rejected.<br \/>\n4. A band of 40 men bound by oath to kill him.<br \/>\n5. He was lonely for even the Christians deserted him.<br \/>\n6. The only friendly person was the Roman Commander.<br \/>\n7. His future was covered with a cloud of despair.<\/p>\n<p><strong> IV: &#8220;The Night the Lord Stood by Paul.&#8221; Phillips<\/strong><br \/>\n1. The Lord knew all about his problems.<br \/>\n2. He had a word for his dejection. &#8220;Be of good cheer.&#8221;<br \/>\n3. He had a word for his sense of failure; &#8220;Thou hast testified concerning me at Jerusalem.&#8221;<br \/>\n4. He had a word for his future, &#8220;So must thou bear witness also at Rome.&#8221;<br \/>\n5. Paul never wavered again, he remained poised and balanced.<br \/>\n6. No more sadness because of apparent failure.<\/p>\n<p>The unseen Presence was real to him every hour of the days ahead.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul&#8217;s Darkest Night<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Acts 23:11<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> I: Paul&#8217;s Return to Jerusalem.<\/strong><br \/>\n1. After 20 yrs. in Mission Works.<br \/>\n2. Coming home to help and report.<br \/>\n3. An offering for the needy.<br \/>\n4. The Church at Jerusalem was glad to see him.<\/p>\n<p><strong> II: Paul&#8217;s Darkest Night.<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Beaten and bruised.<br \/>\n2. Failure to win his people.<br \/>\n3. His apparent failure in witnessing.<br \/>\n4. Even James and the Church failed to show.<br \/>\n5. His plans of future Mission work at Rome shattered.<\/p>\n<p><strong> III: Jesus Stood by Him.<\/strong><br \/>\n1.
