Acts 2:14-21,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 John 14:<\/strong>
\nPeter preached his Sermon on 3 Pronouns: “this” “Him” and “You.”<\/p>\n

I: The Threefold Impression of Pentecost.<\/strong>
\n1. They were amazed — they didn’t know — amazement is Mental Arrest.
\na. They didn’t know the meaning of what they heard and saw but they wondered.
\nb. Where wonder ceases, Worship ceases.
\nc. Wonder isn’t Worship, but is the 1st step toward Worship.
\nd. They were compelled to turn from the ordinary and attend to this matter.
\n2. They were perplexed: Perplexity is Mental Defeat. Amazement meant that they didn’t know, Perplexity meant that they knew that they didn’t know.
\n3. Perplexity was followed by Criticism: Criticism is Mental Activity. Some exercise is J.R. Neighbors.
\n4. A Spirit filled Church will have these effects upon those whom it preaches; Amazement, Perplexity, and Criticism.
\n5. The Church is dead that has lost it’s ability to make the World wonder in arrested attention, and Perplexed because it can’t understand and Critical of that which it can’t explain or will not accept.<\/p>\n

II: “These are not Drunk.”<\/strong>
\n1. They said these are drunk.
\n2. Have you ever been accused for being drunk with your Christianity or your Church work?
\n3. How seldom are we as a Church intoxicated with a task!
\n4. “These are not drunk.” “Be not drunk with wine, but be filled with the Spirit.” Eph. 5:18<\/strong>
\na. 1 is a false attempt to enjoy life at its best, the other is enjoying life at its fullest.
\nb. Wine gives an artificial elevation; the Holy Spirit gives a Holy Elevation.
\nc. The Stimulation of Wine is toward evil; the Holy Spirit to Purity.
\nd. The Momentary Stimulus of Wine recedes leaving sorrow and shame, the Holy Spirit continues giving Joy and Peace.
\ne. “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging, and whosoever is deceived thereby isn’t wise.” Proverbs 20:1<\/strong>
\nf. The fruit of the Spirit.<\/p>\n

III: “This is That.”<\/strong>
\n1. A new day, the last days.
\n2. Christ in you the hope of Glory.
\n3. The Power and glory of God has come.<\/p>\n
