They were amazed &#8212; they didn&#8217;t know &#8212; amazement is Mental Arrest.<br \/>\na. They didn&#8217;t know the meaning of what they heard and saw but they wondered.<br \/>\nb. Where wonder ceases, Worship ceases.<br \/>\nc. Wonder isn&#8217;t Worship, but is the 1st step toward Worship.<br \/>\nd. They were compelled to turn from the ordinary and attend to this matter.<br \/>\n2. They were perplexed: Perplexity is Mental Defeat. Amazement meant that they didn&#8217;t know, Perplexity meant that they knew that they didn&#8217;t know.<br \/>\n3. Perplexity was followed by Criticism: Criticism is Mental Activity. Some exercise is J.R. Neighbors.<br \/>\n4. A Spirit filled Church will have these effects upon those whom it preaches; Amazement, Perplexity, and Criticism.<br \/>\n5. The Church is dead that has lost it&#8217;s ability to make the World wonder in arrested attention, and Perplexed because it can&#8217;t understand and Critical of that which it can&#8217;t explain or will not accept.<\/p>\n<p><strong> II: &#8220;These are not Drunk.&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n1. They said these are drunk.<br \/>\n2. Have you ever been accused for being drunk with your Christianity or your Church work?<br \/>\n3. How seldom are we as a Church intoxicated with a task!<br \/>\n4. &#8220;These are not drunk.&#8221; &#8220;Be not drunk with wine, but be filled with the Spirit.&#8221; <strong>Eph. 5:18<\/strong><br \/>\na. 1 is a false attempt to enjoy life at its best, the other is enjoying life at its fullest.<br \/>\nb. Wine gives an artificial elevation; the Holy Spirit gives a Holy Elevation.<br \/>\nc. The Stimulation of Wine is toward evil; the Holy Spirit to Purity.<br \/>\nd. The Momentary Stimulus of Wine recedes leaving sorrow and shame, the Holy Spirit continues giving Joy and Peace.<br \/>\ne. &#8220;Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging, and whosoever is deceived thereby isn&#8217;t wise.&#8221; <strong>Proverbs 20:1<\/strong><br \/>\nf. The fruit of the Spirit.<\/p>\n<p><strong> III: &#8220;This is That.&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n1. A new day, the last days.<br \/>\n2. Christ in you the hope of Glory.<br \/>\n3.
