Confidence in the flesh.<br \/>\na. &#8220;Circumcised the 8th day,&#8221; not like a prosolite.<!--more--><br \/>\nb. &#8220;Of the stock of Israel, tribe of Benjamin.&#8221;<br \/>\nc. &#8220;As touching the law, a Pharisee.&#8221;<br \/>\n2. &#8220;Concerning Zeal&#8221;:<br \/>\na. &#8220;Persecuting the Church.&#8221; Stoning of Stephen.<br \/>\nb. &#8220;Righteousnes which is of the law, blameless, filthy rags.&#8221;<br \/>\nc. &#8220;Those I counted loss for Christ.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>II: &#8220;I have suffered the loss of all things.&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n1. He was not complaining, only rejoicing.<br \/>\n2. His own righteousness was not enough.<br \/>\n3. Family ties were broken.<br \/>\n4. Old friends became new enemies. He gave them up.<br \/>\n5. From a respectable position to the jails.<br \/>\n6. From plenty to hunger, cold &amp; suffering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>III: &#8220;That I may know him.&#8221; (His reason for taking the loss, for the Pearl of great Price).<\/strong><br \/>\n1. &#8220;Power of his resurrection.&#8221; Power over sin, death, and Hell.<br \/>\n2. &#8220;Fellowship of his suffering: willing to suffer with the cause of Christ. (He was not a rocking-chair Christian).&#8221;<br \/>\n3. &#8220;Conformable unto his death.&#8221; Dead to sin and alive unto God.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IV: &#8220;This one thing I do.&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Paul had a narrow 1 track mind in serving God. He had a goal, a vision that kept him on the beam.<br \/>\n2. He was unwilling to waste life majoring on minors.<br \/>\n3. &#8220;Forgetting the Past.&#8221; Unhampered by yesterdays remorse.<br \/>\n4. &#8220;Reaching forth unto those things which are before.&#8221;<br \/>\na. A clear look into the future.<br \/>\nb. Hands outstretched to the task of tomorrow.<br \/>\nc. &#8220;I press toward the mark.&#8221; As a warrior or as an athelete presses the War or game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;For the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ.&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8220;The wages of sin is death.&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8220;The gift of God is eternal life.&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8220;A crown of righteousness.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Philippians 3:1-14 There were many things in Pauls past that could have hindered his Christian walk.
