A new generation arose.<br \/>\n3. God&#8217;s time had come.<br \/>\n4. Few of God&#8217;s people were ready.<br \/>\na. Zerubbabel (42,000 &#8211; 537 B.C).<br \/>\nb. Ezra (1,755 &#8211; 458 B.C).<br \/>\nc. Nehemiah and his staff (445 B.C).<\/p>\n<p><strong>II: The Building of the Temple:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Everything was in ruins.<br \/>\n2. Opposition took the form of compromise &amp; ten through the King.<br \/>\n3. 16 yrs. of failure.<br \/>\n4. They turned to their own houses &amp; built their own business.<\/p>\n<p><strong>III: The Building of the Walls.<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Nehemiah got under the burden.<br \/>\n2. Sanballat the Horonite, &amp; Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite were grieved.<br \/>\n3. The work was attracted by:<br \/>\na. Scorn: &#8220;They laughed us to scorn.&#8221;<br \/>\nb. Mockery: &#8220;Will they revive the stones out of the rubbish?&#8221;<br \/>\nc. Ridicule: &#8220;Even that which they build if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.&#8221;<br \/>\nd. Threat of War.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IV: &#8220;O God, strengthen my hands.&#8221; Nehemiah 6:4<\/strong><br \/>\n1. The people&#8217;s sins rebuked by God.<br \/>\n2. Blessings of the past repeated.<br \/>\n3. Reading of God&#8217;s word brought conviction.<br \/>\n4. Worked with willing minds.<br \/>\n5. Prepared for the battle.<br \/>\n6.
