Stewardship of Life

Corinthians 1 6:19-20, Jeremiah 18:1-6, and Romans 12:1-2

“Webster when secretary of State in President Fillmores cabinet was dining one night with 20 others at Astor House in New York. He was asked a question: “Mr. Webster, will you tell me the most important thought that ever occupied your mind?””
Webster passed his hand over his broad forehead and said in a low tone to the one next to him, “Is there anyone here that doesn’t know me?”
“No.” The man answered. “They are all your friends.”
Then Webster lifted his head and answered: “The most important thought that ever occupied my mind was that of my individual responsibility to God.”
Paul the Apostle tells how one is enabled to live up to that responsibility.

I: “I Beseech you.” “I beg of you, please!”

1. The ernest plea of a servant of God.
2. The longing of Paul for men to live for God.
3. In view of, “the mercies of God,” justification, sanctification, and glorification.
4. In view of what He has done for us, we are under obligation to live a righteous life.

II: “Present.” To place beside or near, to put at one’s disposal.
1. A term used for presenting the Levitical victims and offering.
2. “Living” in contrast to dead sacrifice, dedicated eyes, hands, and feet.
3. “Holy” that which is set apart for God, used.
4. “Acceptable” pleasing, approved, good.
5. “Reasonable” rational, agreeable to reason.
In harmony with the highest reason.

III: How can the Believer do this?
1. “Be not conformed.” Refers to an individual assuming an outward expression that doesn’t come from within.
a. “Stop assuming an outward expression which is patterned after the World, an expression which doesn’t come from within.”
b. Stop misunderstanding in the habits of the World, its manners, speech, expressions, styles, and habits.
2. “World.” “All that fleeting mass of thoughts, opinions, hopes, impulses, aims and aspirations at any time current in the world.” The atmosphere which at every moment of our lives we inhale, inevitable to exhale.
3. “Be ye Transformed.”
a. The masquerade you wear is hiding the Lord Jesus that lives in your heart, the Holy Spirit can’t radiate the beauty of Jesus through the covering.
b. Change your outward expression, (Like Jesus on the Mt. of Transfiguration).
c. Change, conform to the Spiritual World into which you have entered.

IV: Where does the change begin?
1. By the renewed mind.
2. Renovation of the inside.
3. Turn over the mental processes to the Holy Spirit.
4. “Make it a habit to order your conduct in Spiritual ways.” Galatians 5:16.
5. “Prove” our lives must be put to the test.

Every individual is a steward of his life, walk, talk, habits, aspirations, like, and dislikes.

It is required in a steward that he be found faithful.

How can I know God’s will for my life?
