Saul

The times in which he lived: It was the time of Roman Emporors. The powerful influence of the Greek culture. The Jews held tremendous power on commerce. Some of the Culture, Art, and Laws of that age are still effective.
Saul of Tarsus: We must listen to his words if we would know him. His enemies said “His bodily presence was weak.” But even they had to acknowledge that his words were “weighty and powerful.” His writings have touched the hearts and lives of more people than any human being that has lived.
Paul was 1 of the most powerful intellects ever known. Studied at the feet of Gamaliel. He was fearless and independent. He was sometimes impetuous. He possessed a refined courtesy which would not allow him to bring blame until he had 1st praised. He was possessed with a self-denying love that would make him eat no meat while the World stands if it would hinder a brother. He could grieve for the Sins of others until the tears would flow.
He could wish he could die for his people. He was capable of makiing lasting friendships. He was free from jealousy of fellow preachers. He was often filled with indignation toward false brethren. He was disciplined to rejoice under every condition of life he was forced to face.
Alexander spread the Greek Civilization over the Asiatic and African shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
Julius Caesar subdued the Barbarians of Western Europe to the order of Roman Government.
Napoleon shattered the Ancient System of European States, leaving a Gulf between our present and past.

With interest we look upon these men but none have changed the course of human lives as Paul.
