Where is Our Treasure?

Acts 2:1-7, 41-47
In a Hell-bound World, we hear too many trumpets giving an uncertain sound. Too many Churches and too many Christians aren’t sure just where our treasures are.

I: Where are the Preacher’s Treasures?
1. The Material World claims many.
2. Sugar coated preaching make many helpless.
3. A message that’s debatable loses its power.
4. Sometimes I wonder if we aren’t as a little child picking up pebbles or building sand-castles on the Beach when Oceans lie before us.

II: Where are the Churches Treasures?
1. She has her finest building and greatest incomes of all time.
2. Yet she has hardly tapped God’s tenth of God’s people.
3. Too often she fears opposition and retreats rather than fight.
4. Too often we fail to stop a Hell-bound world because we give an uncertain sound.
5. The riches of the Church is buried in the lives of her individual members.
a. 10% of the Church Members do 90% of the work.
b. 90% of the Church Members look upon the Church as a place to sit in comfort a few minutes each week.
c. 25% of the Members attend only occasionally and never contribute to her upkeep.

III: Where are the Church Member’s Treasures?
1. Too often it’s totally invested in perishable goods of this world.
2. Divided allegiance saps us of vital power.
3. “Most of our upset, unhappy Christians need 1 thing more than any other. They need to go to work. Only thru the Disciple of worship and witnessing does one achieve a Spiritual Growth.” Wilburn

IV: Is the World Tired of Jesus?
1. “Where now is your carpenter King?” He is busy building a coffin for the Roman Empire!
2. No, the World isn’t tired of Jesus, but of his feeble lack luster representatives.
3. The World is tired of an inactive church that lives within 4 walls.
4. When we practice what we preach they will listen.
5. If our Treasure is in the right place, it effects our way of life in every situation. (Prince of India and the beautiful Ruby).

V: Hanging a Black Crape:
1. A dark Hell-bound World.
2. A troubled disillusioned Ministry.
3. Churches sleeping of fighting while the Hell-bound world passes by.
“Communism has broken the back of the Churches where ever there has been an open conflict.” Is this the World tired of Jesus?
