Clean Hands and Pure Heart

Psalm 24:3-4

Through God’s Laws we learn what pleases and displeases God.
Things that were displeasing in the Days of Moses are still displeasing.
The Standards of Acceptable Behavior are still the same.
Clean hands and pure hearts are still required of Gods People.

I: The Requirements of Justice.
1. Integrity: Justice and only Justice. Psalm 16:18-20.
No respect of Person before the Law. No taking of gift to blind the Judge.
2. Necessisity for Respect of the Law. Psalm 17:8-13.
Contempt of Law was punished by death. He that acted in disrespect of the Law sows Anarchy. Law and order must have the coroperation of all the people.
3. Obligation of Truth and nothing but Truth. Psalm 19:15-21
a. 2 witnesses required.
b. False witness to be punished. vs. 18-19
c. Character assassination was serious.

II: Requirement of Purity: 22:22
1. 7 crimes were punishable by death. Idolatry, Adultary, Unnatural Lust, Sorcery, Murder, Stricking or Cursing of Parent.
2. Adultery is a sin against marriage, and the Home both ordained of God.
a. Adultery shows hardened disregard for the Home and all that it holds sacred.
b. Adultery tramples to death the beauty of Love.
3. “They which commit such things are worthy of death.” Romans 1:32
4. Malachi 2:13-14 told the people their Worship was unacceptable because of their unfaithfulness to their wives.

III: Good Neighbor Policy 22:1-4 City of Refuge 19:1-5.
1. The Ox that brakes His rope.
2. Respect of others feelings. Psalm 24:10-13
3. Laws of a Hired Servant. Psalm 22:14-15
4. Laws of gleaning. Psalm 22:19-22

These are some Laws of God required for clean hands and pure hearts.
