Proper Authority in Worship

Cor. 1 11:1-16, Ephesians 5:21-33, and Peter 1 3:1-7
Context: “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”

I: The Wrong Method of Worship:
1. The worshiping wasn’t wrong, but the method was.
2. The woman wasn’t condemned for praying & prophecying, but the way they were doing it was wrong.
3. Both men and woman were bringing reproach upon the Church by the way they dressed.
4. The woman went without a veil, a sign of sin in Corinth, and a sign of independence of her husband.

II: God’s Order of Authority in the Church:
1. “The head of Christ is God.”
2. “The head of every man is Christ.”
3. The head of woman is the man.
4. The divine order was being set aside and the church suffered.

III: God’s order of authority in the home. vs. 8-9
1. “For the man isn’t of the woman.” Genesis 2:20. A help mate.
2. “Correct order of conduct helps in winning loved ones and keeps our prayers from being hindered.” Peter 1 3:1-7.
